We are a small eco-community in tropical rural part of Yucatan, Mexico very close to the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. In the future, we would like to incorporate a small hotel and run courses so that others can come and stay and share the experience in more comfortable surroundings and to input and take ideas too.
We wanted to live in a fantastic place, work hard, eat awesome food grown by us on our ‘farm’, in season and without chemicals, to relearn what our food is and where it comes from and do this whilst improving the local surroundings and economy. Our aim is to be 100% self-sufficient for food, energy and water, to have zero waste whilst improving the land on which we depend. We get people involved and to inspire them to do the same. To achieve this, we aim to fully integrate a careful mix of new technologies (such as photovoltaic panels for generating electricity), with those older and largely forgotten due to the discovery of cheap oil and available water (such as rain water harvesting), to manage natural systems (like vermiculture) and combine this with holistic systematic approaches (such as permaculture design). We even have wind powered web servers!!!
We wanted to open the door, so that you can do the same – from soaking up the scenery, the sunshine, the culture, the delicious fresh food and air - to getting truly involved, getting your hands dirty and learning about a life more ‘ordinary’.
We believe that we (us and humanity) can continue to develop at a local and international level without harming the future of our planet which provides us with all that we have. We believe we can all do something to lower our footprint WHILST enjoying most of the luxuries of modern life with some careful thought and planning…

Together they have a keen interest in the environment that began with turning abandoned land into producing fruit and vegetables, minimising their consumption (“The Good Life”) and developed into self-sustainability and permaculture design and living. They believe that development should continue, but that it can (and must) be done intelligently without harming the environment in which we all live.
